This working museum is set up as a 1940's or 50's print shop. This is not a static display with a machine in a corner, but a fully functional printshop!
So come along and see it all happen before your eyes.
The Penrith Museum of Printing Group Visiting programme has been designed to provide visitors with knowledge and understanding of how the printed word used to be produced before the advent of the computer.
Our visitors often marvel at our fully operational linotype type setting machine which really is an amazing piece of mechanical wizardry.
Come and see our 1880's Wharfedale printing press and 1860's Albion Press and much much more. All the equipment is in operational order and is demonstrated to visitors in a safe and secure environment.
